Research Topic

Kinetic Analysis of Gas-Solid Reactions

Recent studies on the kinetic analysis of gas-solid reactions have dealt with the reactions of SO2 and CO2 with solid sorbents at low temperatures. The goal is to understand the structure change of solid reactant and the chemical and physical processes involved in the dry and semi-dry flue gas desulfurization processes, and to derive the kinetic model.


 

Air Pollution Control Technology
The research on air pollution control technology is currently focused on those related to SO2 removal from flue gas. Current topics include the sulfation of fly ash /Ca(OH)2 and silica/ Ca(OH)2 sorbents and the study of spray-drying flue gas desulfurization process. The goal is to find new SO2 sorbents and to raise the utilization of sorbents.



 

Green House Gas Reduction Technology

Current topics are : absorption of CO2 from flue gas by using solid sorbents and the dissolution of silicate minerals in CO2 saturated solution . The goal is to find the sorbents and processes which can be employed to reduce the CO2 emission from fossil fuel burning power plants.

Solid Waste Treatment Technology

  The work on solid waste treatment technology is concerned with the pryolysis of solid waste, such as rice husk, plastic, paper , and rubber , and the dissolution of plastic in plant oils. The goal is to recover the material or convert the waste into useful resources
