Special regulations for electives:
1. Undergraduate courses do not count toward the elective requirement for graduate students. Courses with an identity number starting with U can be applied toward the elective requirement for master's students but not Ph.D. students. (except being approved by the advisors and the department chair) (Physical education and teacher education are not included).
2. For doctoral degree students, if graduate core courses were taken during master degree program, those core courses can be applied toward the core courses requirement in the doctoral program, however the total minimum number of credits for graduation is still the same.
3. Doctoral degree students must complete at least 9 credits of chemical engineering courses (curriculum identity No. 524M). Doctoral degree students without a master degree must complete at least 18 credits of chemical engineering courses (unless approved by the advisor and the department chair).
4. According to the article 7 of school advanced English implementation, doctoral degree student must pass one of the EPT approved in article 7 (For Ph.D. students, the advanced English course does not satisfy this requirement), or complete online graduate English (三) before graduation (this requirement is listed as a dissertation defense qualification). English proficiency tests approved in article 7 are as follows:
(1) pass the first test of high-intermediate level of General English Proficiency Test.
(2) TOEFL score of 550 (or higher).
(3) Computer TOEFL 213 (or higher).
(4) International English Language Test (IELTS) 6 (inclusive) or higher.
(5) Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT) score of 70 or higher in each subject.
(6) University of Cambridge Certificate in English medium (FCE) B grade (or higher).
(7) Have a bachelor degree from a university in an English-speaking country listed in the reference list of the Ministry of Education.
(8) Other English proficiency tests approved by the advanced English planning team and the Ministry of Education.

Remarks:
1. 20 required credits include: Seminar (4 credits), Doctorate Research (4 credits), 4 required courses (3 credits for each course).
2. 3 credits are elective courses.
3. Core courses: Advanced Fluid Dynamics, Advanced Heat and Mass Transfer,Advanced Chemical Engineering Kinetics, Advanced Applied Mathematics for Chemical Engineering (Ⅰ) and (II) (Only one Applied Mathematics course can be applied toward the requirement if both courses are taken), Advanced Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics..
4. For doctoral students without a master degree, minimum credits for graduation is 42 credits. (Seminar: 6 credits, Doctorate Research: 6 credits, 4 required core courses: 3 credits for each course, other 18 credits are elective courses).
