Research Topic

Fluidization Engineering

Application of fluidization bed and fluidized bed reactors are very important in chemical engineering, environmental engineering and combustion engineering. They are the main concerns in our research group. Current experimental works at our laboratory include the following: (i) Voidage and particle velocity in magnetic fluidized beds; (ii) Mass transfer coefficient in liquid-solid fluidized beds; and (iii) Heat transfer in Turbulent fluidized bed. Applications of this work are found in chemicals processing, the processing of materials, the bioreactors, environmental engineering and combustion of coals.


 

Mathematical modeling of chemical engineering system

Mathematical modeling of chemical engineering system is essential to the development and modification of chemical process system. The current works going on at our laboratory include: (i) Effect of Damkohler number on reacting membrane separation system (ii) Chemical conversion in turbulent fluidized bed reactors (iii) Mass Transfer in Bioreactors.
