Several chemical and petroleum companies provide a number of fellowships for our undergraduate and graduate students. For MS students, the top five students in the class obtain financial support from the Ministry of Education in the amount of about NT$10,000/M; others receive NT$4,500/M. Most students can also obtain support (up to NT$8,000/M) through working as research assistants on projects funded by the National Science Council. All PhD students are awarded stipends of NT$12,000/M from the Ministry of Education. They can also be research assistants on projects funded by the NSC and are paid up to NT$28,000/M. Many Ph.D. students also receive support by working part-time as teaching assistants. In principle, all PhD students receive financial support from different sources for a total of over NT$20,000 /M.
