uAdmission for Foreign Students
Scholarships are offered by various organizations. Please note that admission applications and scholarship applications are separate, except for scholarships offered by NTU. Applicants who win any scholarship award are NOT guaranteed a university entrance admission, and vice versa. Applicants must pay attention to different deadlines for scholarships and school admission.
International students may apply for the Taiwan Scholarship offered by the government. Please check www.edu.tw→ English→ Scholarships for detailed information. Applicants may apply from February 1st till end of March every year, at the Taiwan Overseas Mission (TOM) in their home country or the nearest country if there is no TOM in their home country. Scholarships Offered by NTU
NTU has 2 different types of scholarships offered ONLY to graduate students. They are International Graduate Student Scholarship(TWD 20,000 per month for one year) and International Graduate Student Support Fund(TWD10,000 per month for one year). Applicants do not need to submit any additional documents, indicating one's intention on the NTU international student admission application form is sufficient.

International Degree Students can apply for accommodation. However, the University is NOT able to arrange accommodation for couples or families.
Prince (Ch. 太子) BOT House--NTU Chang Hsing (Ch. 長興)/Shuei Yuan (Ch. 水源) Dorms
Accommodation is provided by Prince Corp. in cooperation with NTU. There are two dormitories: Chang Hsin Dormitory and Shuei Yuan Dormitory which are near by the campus. The rent for a single room is about TWD 7,100 (USD 220) per person per month, and a double room is about TWD 4,700 (USD 150) per person per month. Internet and water are included in the rent, while electricity, telephone, and cable TV bills are separate. Facilities in the room include independent bathroom, bed (without mattress), table, book shelf, closet, refrigerator, air conditioning, 24-hour hot water, cable TV jack, internet, and telephone jack.
There are spacious communal living areas and meeting rooms on the first floor. A receptionist is on duty 24 hours a day. Bike storage and spacious car parking area (at an additional cost) are available in the basement. Sports facilities and separate male and female laundry rooms are located in the basement also.
The accommodation contract usually is signed for one year, and 2 month's rent is required as a deposit. Winter and summer breaks are not free of charge. In case of early termination of the contract, the early termination fee is one month's rent. Information about Off-campus Accommodation
Please note that the university does not assist students to find off-campus housing, but recommends the following website: www.tmm.org.tw
Time and cost for public transportation should be considered if living off-campus. It may take up to half an hour one way by MRT to get to the campus and the average cost for transportation per month may be about TWD 1,000 (USD 32). Normally, off-campus housing accommodates 2-4 people in one apartment with an average, rent of TWD 7,000 (USD 190) or more per month per person.
